#LinkYourLife

I spent weeks wondering who you are. The domino days have struck in toppling distance. We are skipping on our own ideas Two players: the self and the shadow, an off-board game of Hot Lava. I never know where to land when I can see us both –in you or near you? Duality of self is curious; I find me on the mosquito side of the wooden screen door. I watch myself drawing identity –that four syllable path to the soul piece–from the basket of the unclothed mind. Shadows and worries danced in the lily-bright fields of the wedge-wheel sun. ~~~ This

I went to graduate school at Indiana University with writer and artist Jackson Brown. I remember reading his stories and wondering what the hell I was doing in an MFA program. His work was and is phenomenal. In fact, many of the writers I had the pleasure of writing with have since won awards or settled themselves into promising writing careers. I buy their books, read their blogs and wonder why I’ve stopped writing fiction. The answer to that is a story for another day. I lost track of Jackson’s

A note from Shawna: I was chatting with Raymond Baxter, The Relationship Blogger, on Facebook when he began sharing the aspects of #LinkYourLife he most enjoys. He told me he has run support groups and that our Facebook group was what a support group was meant to be. That had me excited because the whole goal of #LinkYourLife from day one has been to connect on deeper levels, to support and raise each other by truly getting to know one another beyond the blog, beyond Tweets, and beyond Facebook shares. I

Here are the revised deets: One of you #LinkYourLifers is going to get a $50 Amazon or cash gift card (you choose), but we want you to work for it just a little bit. You can do this if you’re new to #LinkYourLife as well. Here’s how it goes: Write a post short by or long about any of the following and publish it by FRIDAY MAY 27: what #LinkYourLife means to you, how you heard about it, why you keep coming back, what you gain, friends you have made or any

I had this tiny idea to start an online community of people who actually get to know each other using a Twitter hashtag and WOW! I thought maybe I’d get a small group of tender-hearted bloggers to interact regularly. That’s what we were before Shareen Mansfield stepped on board. She is both my soul twin and complement. Shareen stepped in to facilitate Twitter sharing while I began linking up on Facebook. YOU GUYS! Can you believe how big we’ve grown? We think a party is in order. Here’s what we want to

Appa is still in training but he is coming home for 3-6 months to bond with his boy. We couldn’t be more excited to connect with our furry companion, especially as Noah has a particularly dour outlook of late. He needs an intervention. Puppy love should do the trick. And we are picking him up TODAY! If you want to celebrate with us, join #LinkYourLife and #LinkYourCompassion on Twitter and Facebook today with the hashtag #DogParty. Because that’s what’s up. It’s a party, friends! You can even buy Appa a

@ShareenM has done a magnificent job of rounding up new #LinkYourLife voices each week. High-five, soul twin! I have spent a good portion of my day scrolling through links and I’m not nearly close to finished. What I’m finding is incredible honest I’m thoroughly overjoyed to witness. Here are a few highlights. Read and read again. These should not be missed. I was struck by BATTLE FOR SANITY–LIES THAT SAVE YOU by @KyrianLyndon. You know I work largely with survivors or on survivor issues. This piece hit home. I See London, I

With the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S., #LinkYourLife was quieter this week. Despite it being a slow day, there were an enormous number of excellent links shared. Shareen, my #LinkYourLife partner in crime, spent the day shopping and otherwise in a wardrobe I hope transported her to Narnia because, wow, that mama needs a break. I held down our three forts as best I could, but it really wasn’t too hard because this community really is turning into a family that shows up and pitches in. It’s weird. I love
