#LinkYourLife

#LinkYourLife is growing. It’s pretty damn spectacular. I love the voices, the hours spent on roundups, the connections being made. It feels like I’m really getting to know you. Like we are building something beyond weekly plugs. In the spirit of summer, this week, let’s play a game! Share the work of (or tag) three friends. Make sure to deploy our hashtag and maybe connect friends to hashtag rules. Let’s keep in low-maintenance, though. I know I love when people grab my work and share it. I’m guess you all

You know what was awesome about this Friday? I am having trouble grabbing all the links for this roundup because #LinkYourLife joined up with #BluSkyFriday to multiply our members, shares and readership. Please enjoy the hashtag meme @stuckinscared made including #LinkYourLife! @KimGANEPossible shared an incredibly moving and personal piece on rape, abortion and resilience. This is a must-read. Truly. End silence. @UlaWrites is the truth behind the illusion. @PlaguedParent made us laugh at the horror he felt about his daughter’s swimsuit choice. He also shared a beautiful bit of prose. @LvingTheDream shared

If we were having coffee, I’d wink at you and smile. Why? Another Friday and more lives linked. Yesterday’s linkup was particularly powerful. I am a life blogger. I am also a writing coach with a passion for understanding what makes people tick. I don’t believe any person is two-dimensional, but social media makes us seem that way. We share only the extra-good or extra-bad creating a flat digital impression of ourselves. Here, friend, let me refill your cup. Stay awhile. What I want to say is people are complicated. It

I hope you enjoy this collection of #LinkYourLife posts! It’s a fantastic roundup with some welcome new voices. I would like to invite all contributors to link your social media and personal websites in comments below. And for newbie Lifers, you can find the hashtag rules and previous roundups here, but this is the gist: Your heartfelt, your humor, your headaches, your love sprains, your wisdom & mistakes, your work, your truth, your REAL: #LinkYourLife! Read,

What a week! I’m sorry to get this up so late, but better late than never. Tomorrow will be the third #LinkYourLife event, so I am happy to squeak this one out under the wire. @allisonmaruska’s writing story started with a truck.  @ShareenM honors her husband’s unrelenting support through chronic illness. @UlaWrites composed a beautiful reflection on impermanence and grief. @Ruebi shared “Hold your breath and count to ten.”  @rksteg linked an important post on escaping emotionally abusive relationships. My share (@shawnamawna) was my inclusion in ART SAVES LIVES INTERNATIONAL. Some of you

As #LinkYourLife grows, I thought I would take the time to do a roundup of posts shared. This week was a small group of powerful writers. I hope you enjoy these pieces if you missed them. @JennBerney shared her story of how asking for sperm can be awkward. @ShareenM would have died on the bathroom floor if her estranged sister hadn’t saved her life. @KimGANEPossible logged the journey she and her husband travelled to reach their taco truck dream. @Ruebi_LHB shared “The frustrations of the Migraineur,” an examination of life with migraines. @allisonmaruska wrote

I created a hashtag on Twubs called #LinkYourLife. You can join the Twub here, or employ the tag on Twitter. Use it to share work or moments that best capture who you are. I want to know who you are. Let’s meet up every Friday to link our lives, share each other’s work, and form more lasting social media connections. Online connections can be glancing. Let’s get personal. What you should link: Who you are, what you do, and a piece of work that you feel best represents you (blog, publication, poem, story, etc.). Work
