I had this tiny idea to start an online community of people who actually get to know each other using a Twitter hashtag and WOW! I thought maybe I’d get a small group of tender-hearted bloggers to interact regularly. That’s what we were before Shareen Mansfield stepped on board. She is both my soul twin and complement. Shareen stepped in to facilitate Twitter sharing while I began linking up on Facebook. YOU GUYS! Can you believe how big we’ve grown? We think a party is in order. Here’s what we want to
@ShareenM has done a magnificent job of rounding up new #LinkYourLife voices each week. High-five, soul twin! I have spent a good portion of my day scrolling through links and I’m not nearly close to finished. What I’m finding is incredible honest I’m thoroughly overjoyed to witness. Here are a few highlights. Read and read again. These should not be missed. I was struck by BATTLE FOR SANITY–LIES THAT SAVE YOU by @KyrianLyndon. You know I work largely with survivors or on survivor issues. This piece hit home. I See London, I

Every year for Halloween dress-up day, I put on my traditional Lebanese clothes and went to school as a “gypsy” in what was truly a strange mish-mash misrepresentation of multiple cultures. I played directly into the hands of right wing brown-phobic stereotypes. But my peers loooooved it. They asked me to grant wishes. So I would cross my arms and nod I Dream of Jeannie-style reveling in my annual day of othered popularity. It turns out I can’t grant wishes by nodding no matter how high my ponytail. Who knew? It also turns out there is
With the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S., #LinkYourLife was quieter this week. Despite it being a slow day, there were an enormous number of excellent links shared. Shareen, my #LinkYourLife partner in crime, spent the day shopping and otherwise in a wardrobe I hope transported her to Narnia because, wow, that mama needs a break. I held down our three forts as best I could, but it really wasn’t too hard because this community really is turning into a family that shows up and pitches in. It’s weird. I love
I had this tiny idea that maybe it wouldn’t feel so lonely online if I could actually get to know some writers more deeply.
#LinkYourLife(rs), I apologize. I am private person. I know it’s hard to believe considering the amount of TMI that went on last Friday. Not to mention the flirting with Tom Angel and the epic level of bonding achieved with @Ruebi_LHB over zombies and Allison over her amazing motivational posts. Many of you knew I was putting together the round up as well as the only Twitter #LinkYourLife party hostess. (Shawna was busy winning at FaceBook. If you haven’t joined the FB group, go here now.) Many of you also knew I recently
Hello, #LinkYourLifers! Welcome to this week’s rundown. There were so many links, you’ll have to excuse the brevity of many introductions. It was actually crazy enough I nearly resorted to pills. Shawna was in and out due to birthday celebrations (her own), so I got to be the boss hostess. Now that Shawna’s blown out her birthday candles, let’s dive into a puddle of link love. You May Say I’m A Dreamer from @yadadarcyada is a great #1. I’m sure this was on Shawna’s wishlist. Except Battling it out “Star
It’s been far too long since I put together a #LinkYourLife roundup. This one is going to be double the fun because you will be linked to The Honeyed Quill and On the Verge. Shareen has become my #LinkYourLife partner, and she’s really good at it. How many of you shared on Friday because she reached out to you? Go ahead, raise your hands. Yep, that’s what I thought. Now, not every link is shared in this roundup. I snatched as many as I could, but #LinkYourLife has grown considerably
Friends, we did it. We grew #LinkYourLife beyond anything I can keep up with in a roundup. By teaming up with #BluSkyFriday, we more than doubled participation and readership. While I would love to link you all right here on my space, I think I am going to have to take a lesson from #1000Speak and #WeekendCoffeeShare and create a master space where you can link yourselves. In the meantime, I am toying with the idea of a “best of” or highlighting links from random time periods throughout the day.
